Summer is upon us, which, in the wedding industry, means lots of beach time – sunset photo shoots, weddings with ocean backdrops, beachside honeymoons…you catch our drift! Being based in California means we don’t have to travel far to find a perfectly magical beach setting, but there’s something especially exotic about crossing the border…
One of our favorite beachside venues is in the Riviera Maya, Mexico at the Rosewood Mayakoba – an absolutely dreamy setting! The bride and groom chose to do a first look in their private suite overlooking the shoreline, which made for a truly picturesque moment.
Any wedding on the beach is bound to be gorgeous, and this was no exception. With the azure ocean gleaming in the background and a Lucite Chuppah, the ceremony was straight out of a storybook.
The table decor for dinner was light and beachy with Chilewich placemats, white linen napkins and silver napkin rings, custom metallic linen table runners and pink, peach and white florals by Vanessa Jaimes (http://www.vanessajaimes.com/).
Another thing we love about beaches are the sunsets and the late night bonfires – and this wedding had both! Oceanfront cocktails while the sun was setting made for romantic photo opps, and later in the evening, the festivities continued on the beach. We set up a beach bonfire with buckets of beer, a s’mores bar, and a cigar bar for those so inclined. And when the night eventually came to an end, the newlywed couple only had to wander off to their beachfront suite… Paradise!
